Centre of Studies for Manuscriptology
The department of Centre for Manuscriptology is established in 2004 and belongs to the Faculty of Sanskrit Literature.
Seminar discussions and awareness classes on the importance of Manuscripts and Scientific approaches to the ancient and modern presentation techniques are conducted.
Centre for Manuscriptology is now conducting M. Phil and Ph. D courses. Besides the regular academic courses, the Centre for Manuscriptology aims to conduct Workshops, Seminars, Extension lectures, Awareness classes and Preservation techniques to the interested Students, Public and Custodians of manuscripts. Survey, Collection, Conservation and Preservation by transcribing and digitalizing manuscripts, Edition and publication of Manuscripts etc. are also the future plans of the Department.

The University was established two decades ago in the name of the illustrious Indian philosopher Jagad Guru Adi Sankara in his place of birth at Kalady.
