The Department of Sanskrit Sahitya started functioning since 1993, which now emerged as the largest department in the University on the grounds of student strength and the number of courses it offers. Ever since 1998, the department awarded 90 PhDs in all. Apart from the regular courses, the department takes special concern in organising national and international seminars, workshops, extension as well as memorial lectures along with other student-oriented programmes.
